About Croquet in the Masters Games
Croquet is well established in the Masters Games. The last time the Masters Games were held in Adelaide, there were about 75 competitors. With 48 medals to be won in the different categories in each of the four events (singles and doubles in each of Association and Golf croquet), this is an opportunity for some well-rewarded and enjoyable croquet. The games are not treated as match events for the purpose of handicap cards.
There are two key changes in format since last time:
1. There will be a Golf Croquet competition as well as an Association Croquet competition.
2. We are slightly changing the grouping format. Last time, players were grouped by age, which fitted in well with the Masters Games ethos, but meant we had some fairly widely handicap differences on the lawn. This time, we are going to group by handicap for both the Association Croquet and the Golf croquet.
For the doubles games, partners will be drawn by the organisers following the close of entries on 2nd September.
