Harbour Breeze to defend 2010 WBC

Wellington Swish
Waikato Wizards
Taranaki Trojans
Otago GoldRush
NZ Womens Academy
Waikato Cougars
Hutt Valley Flyers
Palmerston North Storm

These 9 teams will fight it out at all 3 tournaments to become the WBC Champions for 2010.

We have also confirmed an invitation team at each tournament to make the draw even with 10 teams.
These teams will attend only one tournament and gain no Championship points.
Canterbury will automatically play in the Plate Section in Dunedin and will end up playing in the 9th/10th game after round robin play.
The entry fee for each team is a third of WBC team fee.

Tarankaki – NZ Age Group Team
Waitakere – Te Wanango O Aotearoa
Dunedin – Canterbury Wildcats

We have split the draw into two sections and you will play 4 games in a round robin on Thursday and Friday.
You will then be seeded 1 to 5 and you will cross over and play the same seeding in the opposite section on Saturday.
We will then have be able to allocate Championship points for Tournament One.
First Place gets 20 points down to 9th place who will get 4 points.

NOTE:

We have made the final game on Saturday finish by 3pm to give teams to travel home and to catch planes out.
This will also save paying another nights accommodation.

We will use this exact same format for tournament Two in Waitakere and same game times.
It will mean for those flying up you will be able to book your flights home on Saturday night.

The one change for Dunedin is all teams will be required to stay in town on Saturday night.
The finals for the Championship and the Plate will be played later in the day as we will be adding semi finals to the draw.
We are also going to do a prize giving in the evening for all the teams to attend.
You will need to account for this in your arrangements for Dunedin.

We look forward to getting the WBC underway and seeing our teams back in action on the floor
