U13 Reps Nationals All Clear

The NZ U13 Championships will go ahead in Christchurch on October 4-8.

Canterbury Basketball Association’s (CBA) venues, QEII and Cowles, have been inspected by the Christchurch City Council engineers after last week’s earthquakes and cleared of any damage.

QEII will reopen to the public on Wednesday, along with all other council facilities. Cowles is currently being used as a civil defence rescue centre and should return to normal well before the tournament.

The basketball courts at each venue have been inspected and CBA has been advised they are all fine to use for the tournament.

Thanks to all other associations for their support during this uncertainty. There was overwhelming support for the nationals to remain in Christchurch.

CBA is more than happy to answer any queries on areas to avoid and help find alternative accommodation if required.
