Harbour Heat Back to Winning Ways

In Invercargill the Zerofees Southland Sharks have pulled off a very important win against the struggling Harbour Heat winning 88-79. Mike Helms won the duel of the shooting guard scoring a season high 30 points, which puts the Sharks back to .500 with seven wins and seven losses.

Sharks finally corrected their third quarters beating the vistors 23-12 and will be happy with their defense forcing Corey Webster to shoot 7/23 from the field.

Sharks big man Arthur Trousdell had 17 points and 9 rebounds, while Heat’s big men Beny Anthony and Rick Rickert had 16 and 14 respectively.

Harbour Heat finally got off their five game losing streak defeating the OceanaGold Nuggets 106-84. Beny Anthony nearly had a double double of 25 points and nine rebounds, while his front court partner Rick Rickert had a double double of 18 points and 11 rebounds.

Both Nuggets imports Tyler Amaya and John Barber were the leading scorers with 23 and 20 also grabbing 11 and 10 rebounds, but they could not keep up with the offense of the Heat trailing by 25 points heading into the final period.

The back court of Corey Webster and Kavossy Franklin scored 21 and 24 respectively.
