Lemanis to Help Coach Boomers

Lemanis, Shane Heal and Marty Clarke will work with head coach Brett Brown through to the London Olympics in 2012.

Lemanis says that it isn't just a reflection on his abilities but it's about the team he works with.

"I am extremely happy with the selections," Brown said from the United States.

"Andrej has an outstanding knowledge of the game and has done very good things with the New Zealand Breakers"

"They are a competitive, astute group and together we are excited to embrace the difficult challenge of securing Australian men's basketball's first medal in senior men's competition."

In addition, Bill Tomlinson has been selected as a Network Coach to assist in the development and preparation of athletes on an individual basis.

Lemanis, Heal, Clarke and Tomlinson replace Brendan Joyce (2006 World Championship; 2008 Olympic Games) and Gordon McLeod (2008 Olympic Games).

The Boomers' 2009 campaign begins on June 20 with a camp at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra and ends at the Boris Stankovic Cup in China on September 1.
