Volunteers needed for FIBA U19 World Championship

Auckland, 2 12 July 2009

The FIBA U19 World Championship is being held in Auckland from July 2- 12, and is a unique opportunity to showcase our country and to let our personality shine through our volunteers.

The 2009 FIBA U19 World Championship volunteers will be the face of the event. As a Volunteer you will be the first person our visitors see and talk to at the games. Your commitment to deliver an event that is underpinned by a friendly and professional image is what will make this event a success. As a volunteer you will inspire others and help Basketball NZ to create a legacy for volunteering and basketball.

We will be recruiting volunteers, both seasoned and new to the game, who can offer a range of skills and experience. We are seeking volunteers who have the time, skills and experience to make this an event to remember for the teams, for FIBA, for Basketball NZ and for New Zealanders.

The event organisers will start recruiting volunteers soon. We are already working to identify volunteers for our more specialist roles, officials and language experts. In the meantime if you would like to make yourself known to us please email nicole@u19bballchamps.co.nz put Volunteers in the subject line and your contact details in the body of the email and we will be back in touch with you.

This is an opportunity for you to enjoy the company of other volunteers, to be part of an exciting event and to give back to your sport and community.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
