Basketball New Zealand (BBNZ) is pleased to be able to offer an exciting and unique opportunity for athletes to attend the 2010 Children Of The World Camp in Istanbul, Turkey in conjunction with the 2010 FIBA World Championship For Men.
BBNZ have the opportunity to nominate 1 male and 1 female born in 1996 to attend this social and cultural basketball project that will bring together teenagers from Turkey with players coming from all around the world. 400 teenagers and 200 coaches will participate in basketball tournaments and clinics, undertake many “teamwork and team play” activities and games, experience the beauty of Istanbul, enjoy Turkish cuisine, and attend games of the 2010 FIBA World Championship.
The camp will be held from August 24 to 31, 2010 in Istanbul, Turkey. All international flights and accommodation expenses in Turkey will be covered by FIBA and the Turkish Basketball Federation. The participants will be expected only to have pocket money for personal expenses.
If you wish to be considered for this extraordinary event, please submit a short essay (250 words or less) outlining why you should be selected to attend this event. We are looking for athletes involved in BBNZ programmes who want to develop themselves, and have the personality that will make them outstanding representatives of New Zealand and BBNZ.
