The boys took on North Canterbury and after a shaky start trailed through the first three periods. Tough defense in the final quarter forced the Canterbury team to play outside the paint providing the NP boys with an opportunity to take the lead. Up by four with less than a second to go, Canturbury nailed a three pointer. NP took a time out and then inbound the ball to watch the clock tick down the final second of the game giving them an 82-81 win.

They play off against Counties-Manukau for 9th & 10th place on the final day.

Scorers in double figures inckuded Nathan Morgan 25, Max Anderson and Corbin Giddy 15, Baxter Fenwick 14 and Connagh McKinstry 10. Rebounders were Nathan Morgan 14 and Baxter Fenwick 11.

The girls had a much tougher game coming up short against the North Harbour team 44-88 who now must be favoured to win the tournament. NP weren't help by the fact that their leading scorer to date Bayley Ransfield sat on the sideline and watched. She was unable to take the court due to a virus.

They now play Rotorua in their final game of the tourney for the 3rd or 4th spot. They played them in their pool play winning 62-53 but all bets are off at this stage. They'll need to maintain their nerve and come up with an alternative game plan to the one they had in their first match if Ransfield can't take the court on Friday.

Scorers were Lilly O'Neill and Teesha Smith 8, Katie Walsh and Shayla Adamson 6. Rebounders were Cassie Jones and Rebecca Nolly 5.
