The girls rose to the occassion and defeated Hutt Valley in the play off for 3rd and 4th spot Sunday afternoon. This was after coming second in their pool to their southern cousins Taranaki Country who went on to become the eventual winners of the tournament.

The girls travel to Hawkes Bay in October to see if they do as well as last year where their coach Eileen Hall managed to lead the girls to a third spot in the country. They have our full congratulations and support for their achievement over the weekend.

The boys ended up placing 5th in their tournament, one spot outside of the qualifying top four positions. This was after going into overtime against Wellington in their qualifying game on Sunday finally going down 74-71.
