Boys High Dominate Wellington College

New Plymouth Boys' High School won the basketball but lost the football and the hockey in the annual sports exchange with Wellington College in New Plymouth yesterday.

A strong first quarter by Boys' High set up an 84-51 win in the first V basketball match. Wellington cut the deficit in the second quarter to seven at halftime.

The home side lifted their defensive effort in the second half and that proved the difference between the teams. Ben Crombie top scored with 23 points, while Lachie Fenwick and Derek Albertsen both made it to double figures.
