The Champions of the Taranaki Medlab SSBL 2010 were crowned on Monday night at the TSB Hub in Hawera. In a well fought game NPGHS 1 was able to pull away from a determined Opunake team to win their third straight title. While NPBHS 1 proved right from the start they were going to be too strong for Stratford High School and went on to record their first ever SSBL title in the boy’s league. It was a great night with the new Hub providing a great neutral venue for the finals and a good crowd despite the weather and the drive. Thanks to TSB Hub and Matt Clever for allowing us to host the 2010 finals at such a great venue.
So that wraps up the 2010 season of the SSBL and a big thank you again to all the coaches and sport coordinators for your help in making sure the league ran smoothly and a big thank you to John Zimmerman and his crew for their support throughout the season. I hope to see you all back next year ready to go and until then enjoy the rest of the school term and good luck at nationals for those teams attending.
