Term 2 Miniball league at Trust Arena will be starting on the 17 May.

We are excited to announce we have made some large changes on how we will be delivering our MiniBall product for Term 2.

 

We will be delivering a 3x3 program that encompasses a skills development component as well as a minimum of 2 games.  We have developed an 6-week skills progression plan with focus points for officiating to emphasise the skills they are developing. This program has been developed to create a solid base of fundamental skills as well as helping to create a lifelong love for the game. This will be taking place for all Year 3&4 and 5&6 miniball. We have kept some of the Year 7/8 grades 5x5 as they are currently delivered. Please follow the link below to find the details of your relevant league:

A quick break down of how the new sessions (3x3) will be delivered is:

 

• 1-hour time slots
• 20-30 minutes of Coach led skill development
• 40-30 minutes of 3x3 games (6-8 Minutes per game) guaranteed a minimum of 2 games per session.
• No more than 5 players per team per week.
• Individual or team registrations welcome
• No weekly draws. 

This will have our sessions taking place over an hour rather than the 45-minute games you would previously have.

 

The rationale behind this change in how we deliver our MiniBall is the following:

 

Player Benefits

• Skill development
• More touches of the ball per player
• More opportunities to be in a decision making position
• High paced game
• Multi-faceted sessions to keep them engaged

 

School/Team Benefits

• Removes the requirement for a coach.
• Fewer numbers are required.
• Transport – with no more than 5 players needed only one car is required per team.
• Lower costs per team.

Cost: $120 per team (Max of 5 players per team)

 

Dates: May 17 24, Jun 21 28, Jul 5 (5 weeks)

 

Grades and Times

Yr3/4 - 4:15pm to 5:00pm

Yr5/6 - 5:00pm to 6:00pm

Yr7/8 - 6:00pm to 7:00pm
