BBNZ tournaments update for 2008

Under 13 and
Under 15 Premierships…

The entries for these tournaments
close at 5pm on the 27th June. No late entries will be accepted after
this date. Please ensure your team(s) are entered on-line and on the Saturday, I
will send out the confirmations. Please note that the fee system will be in
place if you cannot complete all the entry requirements in time. Please contact
me if you have any questions. Team lists are required to be completed at least 3
weeks prior to the tournament starting.

To confirm, the following extra
rules will be in force for the U13 age group:

  • There will be no 3 point
    line
  • The girls will use a size 5 ball,
    the boys a size 6
  • There is no zone defense allowed to
    be done by any team in this competition.

Open
Premierships…

The entries for these have closed,
and the draws will be completed once all teams have confirmed all aspects of
their entry requirements. We are hoping to have the confirmed draws out to all
teams no later than the 27th June. The top two teams from each zone
will qualify to compete at the Open and Wheelchair National Championships on the
12-14th September.

Secondary School
Premierships…

The Secondary School Premierships
are coming up in the Winter Tournament Week. Entries for these tournaments close
off on the 25th July. Can you please contact all schools in your area
to remind them of the Junior, “A” and “AA” competitions coming up.

To recap:

The “A” Division is the smaller
schools competition, this is for schools under 300 students single sex (or 600
co-ed).

The “AA” Division is open to all
schools to enter

The Junior Division is limited to
years 9 and 10 students under the age of 16 only.

For entries, please tell the schools
to e-mail me and ask for their schools login information. For all other
information they can go to the NZSSSC website (www.nzsssc.org.nz).

Hosting
Applications for the 2009 tournament season…

These are currently out, please see
attached the application form and the tournament calendar so far. Please ensure
you complete your hosting application and send into BBNZ no later than the
18th July to be considered.

Please ensure all entries are
completed by the due date to ensure your team does not miss out on taking part
in these tournaments.
