About The Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC)
MSAC is a multi-sport venue situated on the Albert Park Lake, 4.5 km from the Central Business District.
MSAC was host to the 2002 World Masters Games, and will be one of the key venues for the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Currently MSAC is undergoing a $50 million upgrade including a new 50m outdoor pool in preparation for the 2007 FINA World Swimming Championships.

About Basketball
The Basketball competition will utilise the Show Court, which seats 1,870 and has shot clocks and electronic scoreboards.
Court Surface: Dry Court Hardwood surface.
Air conditioning: Yes.
Seating: 1,870
Equipment: Molten Basketballs (Men - FX-7, Women - FX-6)
Training dates: 2-5 January 2005
Competition Standards
The Basketball competition at the Melbourne 2005 Deaflympics Games will be run under the rules and auspices of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and DEAFLYMPICS.
Warm Up Facilities
There will be one warm-up court in the adjoining Basketball Hall for teams to warm up prior to competition.
Pre Games Training Dates
2 - 5 January 2005. Please refer to Pre Games Training Overview included in this handbook. Countries are required to bring their own basketball balls - no balls will be provided for Pre Games Training.
Games Time Training
There will be one warm-up court in the adjoining Basketball Hall for teams to warm up prior to competition. Countries are required to bring their own basketball balls - no balls will be provided for Games Time Training.
Assistive Devices
There will be no assistive devices for Basketball.
