Event Details
The Arafura Games Triathlon will be held on Sunday 13 May. Race start time is 7am. The event consists of a 1.5km swim, 40km cycle and 10km run. A pre-race registration and briefing session will be held Saturday 12 May, between 2-4pm at a venue to be confirmed.
Event Location
Scenic East Point Reserve is where all the triathlon action takes place. The transition area is located beside the Lake Alexander swim course. Lake Alexander is a salt water, man made lake. The water temperature is such that wet suits are not allowed at this event. The 1.5km swim is traditionally a two lap, triangular course. The cycle course is conducted over local roads. Roads remain open during the event and are marshalled at key points. At the designated turnaround point inside the Reserve, cyclists complete this course for a second time. The 10km run follows the Fannie Bay coastline.
Event Rules
The event will be conducted in accordance with Triathlon Australia Race Competition Rules. These may be viewed at www.triathlon.org.au or at compulsory registration.
