Team Managers Meeting
Badmontin will hold a team managers meeting for all team managers on Saturdy 12 May from 10:00am at the Spectrum Stadium. This meeting is important for to attend.
Competition Program
The badminton competition will run from Sunday 13 May to Friday 18 May. Schedule will be:
Sunday 13/05/2007 Teams Event 9:00am to 9:00pm
Monday 14/05/2007 Teams Event 9:00am to 9:00pm
Tuesday 15/05/2007 Teams Event 9:00am to 9:00pm
Wednesday 16/05/2007 Individual Event 9:00am to 9:00pm
Thursday 17/05/2007 Individual Event 9:00am to 9:00pm
Friday 18/05/2007 Finals 9:00am to1:00pm followed by medal presentations

International Participation in Badminton
As at 5 May 2007, Badminton will have the following international teams competing:
Brunei, Chinese Taipei, Macau, New Caledonia, Philippines, Timor, Vietnam and Indonesia.
*These teams are registered to compete - but changes may occur
Event Details
The first half of the week (Sunday to Tuesday) will be the teams event. Each competing team shall nominate not less than two men and two women. Each tie will be decided by the results of 2 mens singles, 2 womens singles, 1 mens doubles, 1 womens doubles and 2 mixed doubles.
The individual competition (singles, doubles and mixed doubles) will be played Wednesday and Thursday with the finals held on Friday. Participating associations are also invited to provide a qualified umpire to join a panel of court officials for this tournament.
Event Location
Badminton will be played at the Spectrum Stadium, which is in the centre of the Marrara Sporting Complex and right next door to the Marrara Hub.
Event Rules
The matches will be played in accordance with the laws of badminton as laid down by the International Badminton Federation (IBF). Shirts, shorts, skirts, shoes and headbands shall be in accordance with IBF regulations.

Will there be practice sessions available?
Practice sessions will be held on the Saturday at the playing venue. Any additional training sessions required can be organised through the Sport Coordinator. Times of the sessions will be made known closer to the games.
Who is the Badminton competition aimed at?
These games are aimed at the participation of regional teams and development squads to gain international playing experience in an atmosphere of friendship.
What is the format?
The week will be divided into two halves, the team events being held from Sunday to Tuesday and the individual events being played on Wednesday to Friday. The teams event will consist of ties made up of eight matches, comprising two mens singles, two ladies singles, a mens doubles, ladies doubles and two mixed doubles. The event will be either round robin with medal winners finishing first, second and third, or will be semi-league where the medal winners will be determined by finals matches, depending on the number of teams participating. In the individual competition the events will be singles, doubles and mixed doubles.
How many players' are in a team?
A team shall consist of not less than two ladies and two men and not more than four ladies and four men in any match played.
What shuttle's are used?
The shuttles used in the tournament are tournament grade "snowpeak" feather shuttles.
