With three months to go before the start of the 2009 Pacific Mini Games in Cook Islands, the Pacific Games Council has paid a visit to Rarotonga to inspect facilities and meet with the Organising Committee.
Council President Vidhya Lakhan and Executive Director Andrew Minogue visited Rarotonga from 16-18 June. The venues, including the soon to be completed Athletics Track at the Tereora National Stadium and the adjacent Multi-Sport Centre (for Weightlifting, Netball and Squash) at Nikao, are looking very impressive and should provide excellent amenities for the region's athletes.
The Council continues its work with the Organising Committee for PMG2009, the Cook Islands Government, and the Host Pacific Games Association, CISNOC, through its new President Sir Geoffrey Henry, to ensure the organisation of the event is of a high standard.
