Pacific Games Council President Vidhya Lakhan visited Noumea on 1 December to celebrate the 1,000 days to go milestone for the 2011 Pacific Games to be held in New Caledonia.
The President had a busy agenda during his visit. In addition to the 1,000 days celebrations and various media engagements, he also:
- officially opened the Council's office within the Maison du Sport (which also hosts CTOS and NC2011);
- unveiled the new PGC logo;
- signed the official Host Agreement with the President of CTOS, Charles Cali, and the President of NC2011, Pascale Bastien-Thiry; and
- accompanied the New Caledonia Minister for Sport Maurice Ponga on a visit to the new multi-purpose hall under construction at Paita.
At the end of the President's visit on 2 December he travelled to Wallis & Futuna to pay a first ever visit on the host country for the 2013 Pacific Mini Games.
