The 2008 Pacific Games Council General Assembly was held in Rarotonga, Cook Islands on 22 September. This was the one and only opportunity for PGA delegates to inspect the facilities before Cook Islands host the Pacific Mini Games in September 2009.
Delegates from 19 of the 22 Pacific Games Associations were in attendance at the General Assembly.
The General Assembly had a very full agenda with delegates debating the merits of the reports and recommendations of the three standing Committees - Charter Review, Sport, and Marketing. Delegates were also briefed on the state of preparations by the respective Organising Committees for the 2009 Pacific Mini Games in Cook Islands; the 2011 Pacific Games in New Caledonia; and the 2013 Pacific Mini Games in Wallis & Futuna.

Friday 19 September 2008: Chefs de Mission Meeting (with Pacific Mini Games 2009 Organising Committee); Venue Tours; PGC Sport Committee Meeting; Welcome Reception hosted by the Prime Minister of the Cook Islands
Saturday 20 September 2008: PGAs Marketing Seminar; Dinner hosted by the Cook Islands Sports and National Olympic Committee
Sunday 21 September 2008: PGC Executive Board Meeting; Dinner hosted by the President of the Pacific Games Council
Monday 22 September 2008: PGC General Assembly; Farewell Reception hosted by the Cook Islands Minister for the 2009 Pacific Mini Games
