The Pacific Games Council has proudly become a signatory to the Brighton Declaration on Women and Sport, following a unanimous decision by members at the annual General Assembly in Wallis and Futuna on 8 September 2013.
The Brighton Declaration was finalised in 1994 and has several hundred signatories, including the International Olympic Committee and the Commonwealth Games Federation. It is attached here for ease of reference.
Pictured here signing the Brighton Declaration are Council President Vidhya Lakhan flanked by two Pacific Games Athletics champions, Toea Wisil and Betty Burua from Papua New Guinea.
