The Pacific Games Council received 47 nominations from its 22 Pacific Games Associations for the 3rd annual Pacific Sports Awards to be presented in Noumea on 4 September. The awards recognise the "most meritorious international performance/contribution" in the following categories:
- Outstanding Sports Administrator of the Year
Nominees: Alister STEVIC (Cricket, COOK ISLANDS), Laisiasa PUAMAU (Basketball, FIJI), Bill LEANE (Cricket, PNG), Charles VILLIERME (PGA/Va’a/Kayak, TAHITI)
- Outstanding Coach of the Year

- Outstanding Technical Official of the Year

Former winners of the Pacific Sports Awards include the IOC member in Fiji, Dr Robin Mitchell (Lifetime Achievement 2009), and Samoa's Weightlifting queen, Ele Opeloge (Female Athlete of the Year 2009 and 2010).
