Our High School Competition is in its fourth year in its current format. This year, the competition will be split into two divisions (junior and senior) to help create a more level playing environment, particularly for newer players.
The girls’ competition started on Tuesday, 14 February, and will run for seven weeks. All matches will be played at Walford School’s playing fields on the corner of Cross and Belair Roads, Hawthorn. Matches will be played at 4.20pm and 5.10pm, finishing by 6pm. Competing schools include: Cabra, Marymount, St Michael’s, St Peter’s Girls, Walford and Westminster.
The boys’ competition commences on Tuesday, 21 February, and will run for six weeks. Matches will be played at Park 21W in the Adelaide Parklands, corner of South Terrace and Goodwood Road. Match times are set for 4pm and 5pm. Immanuel, Rostrevor and St Michael’s College will compete for the title of SA’s champion school team.
We are still looking for umpires available and willing to officiate the girls’ matches. Remuneration will be provided. Please contact Luke Oswald at developmentdirector@lacrossesa.com.au or 0435 573 533 if you would like to help this competition.
School lacrosse has helped our sport gain a foothold at some of Adelaide’s best schools, with some of these schools taking the step into joining Lacrosse SA’s winter competition, growing our junior numbers, increasing our exposure, and giving hope and encouragement that developing school programs can pay dividends.
