New CEO at WRFL
Ian Hamm the President of the Western Region Football League is pleased to announce that John Batty has accepted the position of CEO of the League replacing Damien Phillips.
John is well known in the west having served on the WRFL Board of Directors since 2002 and most recently serving as Vice President. His roots in football date back to 197o as a player for Balwyn Football after which he worked in a part time capacity for the Collingwood Football Club for more than a decade.
In 1993 he was appointed full time Development Manager of the Northern Region for Football Victoria and came to the WRFL in 2001 as Development Manager.
WRFL President Ian Hamm is thrilled with the appointment " John's knowledge of the football industry and in particular his knowledge of football in the western suburbs and the people involved is second to none, making him ideal for the position. The Board believes he is the man to take the League to the next level".
In other news from the League Scott Turner the Football Operations Manager has resigned to take up the role of Football Manager with the West Adelaide Football Club in the SANFL. Ian Hamm said "We thank Scott for the terrific job he has done in the last three years and wish him the best as he takes the next step in his football administration career. We are happy to have given him a good grounding in the industry".
