Grand Final day in 1988 was a big day for the St. Albans Football Club with 4 sides competing for the ultimate football prize. The under 17’s were first to secure a flag winning in wet conditions at Yarraville. At Skinner Reserve the A3 team won while the senior reserves playing at Yarraville lost by a point. The Senior grand final saw the Saints taking on Albion. 5 ‘Saints’ had been suspended during the week leading up to the game but despite that the Saints under coach Robert McGhie prevailed and the club had won three of four flags. Those involved will be reliving the glory on Saturday June 21st at Kings Park Reserve. The club is keen to hear from any players, officials or support staff who want to attend. Contact Des Barnard
