Another win for WRFL Coaches
The west's leading coaches were honoured at the annual Australian Football Coaches Association Western Region Coach of the Year Awards last week. The good news for the WRFL was the news that two of our coaches were successful.
The Youth Coach of the Year honour went to Spotswood's Under 14A 2007 Premiership Coach Tony Walshe. A former Spotswood premiership player and President, Tony had a busy year by also coaching the club's Under 16D team.
Junior Coach of the Year was awarded to Williamstown Junior's Under 11A Coach Rod Ford. A Level Two coach Rod has progress through the Auskick program to finish the year off with the WRFL Under 11A premiership.
Tony and Rod now have the opportunity to progress to the Victorian Coach of the Year Awards night to be held in November. The WRFL congratulates Tony and Rod on their achievements for 2007.
