The League announced recently that it has accepted application by the Tomago River Crows FC to affiliate with the League, with teams entered in Reserve and Under 17 grades for the 2005 season.
This is an important step forward in the League's development, bringing the number of affiliated Clubs to eight, and giving added weight in it's northern playing representation. Setting the draw for 2005 will be a challenge, but it is essential growth in the number of affiliated clubs is targeted, and if that means a need to juggle draws by grades while new clubs develop, and have to live with some extra travel and a few split rounds, the long term benefits will far outweigh any short term pain.
Tomago River Crows, who are based on the coast south of Batemans Bay and took out the 2004 Eurobodalla Junior Australian Football Association Under 16 Premiership, are still to finalise home ground arrangements, but subject to obtaining Council approval and satisfactory inspection by the League, are expected to host matches on the Moruya Showgrounds oval.
