The Cats have been struggling over the last few years for numbers and as result they have not been able to avoid the dreaded wooden spoon claiming the last 3.
Max Barwick is back as the Cats President for another year and like Dave Chapman at the Bulldogs is the backbone of the Cats. Maybe the Cats need to look back to go forward and that is probably why have got their last successful coach in Bryce O'Connor. The Cats last foray to the finals was in 2007 when they made the Preliminary Final under coaching of O'Connor.
Barwick reports that the Cats have got a plan in place for the future. Barwick said "This year we will have a have under 12 side as well as a under 14's from last year playing on Sunday's and we are hoping on a under 16's all three will be playing in the Newcastle competition." It is a great effort by them and will surely set them up in the future when these kids are old enough to play senior footy. Good on you Cats and good luck.
Prediction: Unfortunately for the Cats I can't see them missing this year's wooden spoon.
