Abbott, also known as Plugger for his size not his playing ability, will not be standing for the Kangaroos Presidency at their AGM this year. The president for the last 6 years and saw him oversee the Rooboys play finals for each of those years. He also saw them reach the Grand Final on 3 occasions and his proudest moment was when they won the premiership in 2008.
A cool customer under fire big Plugger has never been afraid to voice his opinion on all things footy and has not only been a passionate Kangaroo but has also spent time on the Executive of the Country Energy Tamworth AFL. Craig has also umpired in the CETAFL as well as umpiring the Tamworth junior competition on Saturday mornings in 2009.
The Kangaroos and the CETAFL will miss the big fella in the big cowboy hat when he and his family move to Batemans Bay in early November.
He will quickly pick up a new club though with former Saint Committee man and CETAFL Media Officer, Peter "Disko" Diskon, working there after he moved there in early 2008. Disko is the Media Officer for the Batemans Bay Seahawks. It will look funny seeing the big Roo in a Port Adelaie Power style jumper.
Farewell Big Fella and good luck.
Sorry about the photo Plugger but I told you I would get you.
