The Nomads returned to the finals in 2010 finishing 4th with only percentage separating them and the Tamworth Swans. They then beat the Swans in the elimination final in Tamworth by 4 goals. They then pushed the Kangaroos in the preliminary final and led this game at three quarter time before the Kangaroos took control of the game in the last quarter winning by two goals.
So what is happening this year at the Nomads? There is a new President. Country Energy TAFL President has taken on the role replacing outgoing President Ben Page. Page was honoured at their AGM for his outstanding service to the Nomads with life Membership.
On field the Nomads have retained their 2010 coach, Brendan Meehan, and have had a few new recruits come training, which started on the 27th of January. Walsh said "A cousin of Weston's (Whitby) from WA has rolled up and he looks pretty good." If the Cousin is half as good as Weston then the Nomads will have had a big find over the summer.
Prediction: The Nomads no longer rely heavily on the UNE for player numbers but if they could get some AFL players come to the uni it boost them greatly. I'm predicting that they will finish 3rd at the end of the home and away season.
