In the Swans v Cats game at NO 1 Oval in Tamworth the Swans' Dean Hoy was charged with breaching law 19.2.2(d) behaving in an abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene manner towards or in relation to an umpire, in the last quarter. On the prescribed penalty system, atfter a one point discount for a three year clear history, this was a grade 3 offence and Hoy was offered a 2 game suspension that he declined to accept. At the Tribunal on Tuesday 18, August Hoy was found guilty of breaching law 19.2.2(c) Using abusive, insulting, threatening or obscene language towards or in relation to an umpire, a grade 1 offence and received a severe reprimand. Hoy is eligible to play in round 15.
