Following a hearing with the NSW/ACT AFL, the Tamworth AFL Executive has reversed the results of two matches in this year's TAFL competition.
It was deemed that the Gunnedah Bulldogs played an ineligible player in their Round 10 match against the New England Nomads. As a result, the Bulldogs points scored in that match have been stripped and they have lost the match.
Also, in the Round 11 clash between the Muswellbrook Cats and Tamworth Swans, the Cats played a player who was deemed to be ineligible. Their points scored in that match have also been stripped and they have lost the match.
The decisions made were not taken lightly, but under the by-laws of the NSW/ACT AFL the Executive had little choice but to act on the infringements.
Both results have a huge impact on the make up of the 2012 TAFL ladder with just this weekend's round of matches to go before the finals.
