The Roos started the season suffering from something of a hangover follwing last year, and whilst player numbers have hurt them, they seem to be hitting their straps just at the right time. Tim Cotter is an asute coach and has worked out a game plan to get his men playing good footy for each other, and they are quietly going about their business as the top 2 teams get all the attention.
Best win - There's been a few to choose from, with a comeback over the Swans in leg two of the Billy Holder Cup right up there. Beating the Aker-led Cats in Muswellbrook would also have been a real thrill for the young Rooboys.
MVP - They are such a balanced team, its hard to find a standout. Matt Hodge has missed a few games this season, but has been as instrumental as always this campaign. However, young stars Alex Hudson and Lachlan Maloney must be near the top of the Roos best and fairest at the moment.
Big games ahead - Heading to the Sapphire City next weekend will be big, as a win puts them equal top and a loss almost puts them out of a top spot finish. The local derbies are also big the following week, and they would love to get one over the Nomads before finals time.
