GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. Open only to any registered Masters Games Participant over the age of 35 years.
2. Tenpin Bowling Australia Ltd. (T.B.A.) Rules will apply.
3. Any dispute and infringement of the rules will be assessed by and a course of action decided by the Tournament Committee.
The T.B.A. Code of Conduct will apply. Any protests, disputes or complaints arising during the Tournament must be lodged with the Tournament Director within fifteen (15) minutes of the alleged infringement, and confirmed in writing within forty-eight (48) hours. The Tournament Director and at least one other Tournament Committee member will adjudicate disputes. Their decision will be final. The Code of Conduct will apply to both able-bodied and disabled divisions.
4. Age Groups for those without a disability are: 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65+. Disabled Athletes will compete in average grades.
5. Each event consisting of 3 games will be $15. Whether it be Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Trios or Mixed Trios.
6. In doubles and trios, an average of the age of the participants will decide what division you play: ie, 37+64+50 = 151/3 = 50+yrs will compete in a 45-54 age group.
7. Each event will be three games scratch.
8. There will be an All Events medal presented for the aggregate scores bowled in the first appearance in Singles, Doubles and Trios events.
9. Check in: 15 minutes before each squad time.
10. No Smoking will be permitted.
CODE OF CONDUCT:These Rules of Conduct will apply and are to be read in conjunction with TBA Rules and Regulations.
CARD SYSTEM
A penalty system will apply to this tournament. Tournament Officials have the authority to issue official warnings and/or cards for any breach of the Code of Conduct. If, in the opinion of a Tournament Official, an incident is considered to be a very serious breach of the code, then that person may issue a Red Card immediately without having first issued an official warning or Yellow Card.
INFRACTIONS
The actions that a penalty may be issued for include but are not limited to the following:
1. EQUIPMENT ABUSE
2. PHYSICAL ABUSE
3. VERBAL ABUSE
4. OBSCENE GESTURES
5. CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL
6. CONTRAVENING THE TBA ANTI DOPING POLICY
7. UNFAIR ADVANTAGE BY:
a. Deliberate Foul
b. Use of Abrasives
c. Sledging
8. FAILURE TO FOLLOW TOURNAMENT OFFICIALS DIRECTIVES
PROCEDURE AND PENALTIES
These rules will be implemented as follows, with the action to be taken at the time of the alleged infraction:
First Infraction: The offender being given an official verbal warning.
Second Infraction: A
YELLOW CARD will be shown.
Third Infraction: A
RED CARD will be shown.
The penalty for a third infraction is disqualification for the remainder of the Tournament and a possible suspension from future TBA competitions. The Tournament Committee will convene at a convenient time that same day the RED CARD was shown to discuss the need for further action to be taken.
DISABILITIES CATEGORIES, RULES AND REGULATIONS:
ELIGIBILITY
This Tournament is open to all current players are of the age of 35 or above and are classified under the following:
A Bowler must have a disability with a functional impairment of not less than 20 points* or more under the impairment tables used to assess eligibility for a disability support pension"
*Where a person is under the pensionable age (16) the bowler must qualify for the child disability allowance or must attend a special school, that caters for specific disabilities.
Any bowler who is unsure of their eligibility to compete as "disabled" should apply to the Sports Conviener for classification and will be responsible for the provision of any medical information deemed necessary.
ENTERING AVERAGES
Must be the highest league average in any organised play over a minimum of 18 games as at
30 June 2003of the previous year. If a bowler uses special equipment to aid in delivering the ball, averages must be established using that equipment.
Bowlers without an average must apply to the Committee for grading, before submitting an entry.
THREE GAMES SERIES
In each grade and event, entrants in teams, doubles and singles, will bowl a three game series. The highest series in each grade and event will win.
PRIZES
Medallions will be awarded to first, second and third places in each grade and event. There will be separate divisions for male and female singles and All Events only.
Teams and Doubles events may be mixed.
ALL EVENTS
An All Events Champion will be declared in every grade. A bowler's first appearance in teams, doubles and singles will count towards the All Events regardless of the grade in which the team, doubles and singles are bowled.
MULTIPLE PARTICIPATION
Teams
Bowlers will be allowed unlimited attempts in teams, although each attempt must be with at least one different team member. Same combinations will not be allowed.
Doubles
A bowler may bowl unlimited doubles entries. Each attempt must be with a different partner.
Singles
Contestants may have unlimited entries in any grade except lower than their own grade.
