Q. Are there any medical restrictions or requirements?
A. Anyone who can swim, no matter what standard or ability level, is encouraged
to participate. If you have any medical concerns regarding your participation
you should consult your GP. You do not require a medical certificate,
but it is each swimmer's responsibility to ensure they are medically cleared
to compete and have trained adequately.
In accordance with the AUSSI Masters safety policy, medical information
is collected from entrants on the registration form to assist the organisers
when responding to an accident or emergency at the event, and is not used
to assess whether a swimmer is able to compete. This information is strictly
confidential. The AUSSI safety policy also notes there are a number of
common infectious diseases which can be transmitted during swimming. A
person with any fever or significant infectious diseases should not participate
in swimming activities. The AUSSI Masters safety policy can be found at

Q What if I don't know my times ?
A. When you complete the entry form, you will see that you need to estimate
your times for the events you are entering. These times will be used to
work out which heat you will be seeded in. If you are unsure of your times review our Swimming Time Ready Reckoner
Swimming
Time Ready Reckoner
The following table is a guide to assist competitors to estimate their
times over various distances by knowing the time they swim a shorter distance.
e.g from the first line under comparative times, if you swim 25 meters
in 12.5 seconds, and estimate for your 50 meter time is 27 seconds and
200 meter time is 2 minutes 22 seconds.
The Australian Masters Games will be conducted in a long Course (50M)
pool, therefore it is more accurate to have your distances times in a
long course pool
