Extension of time to
enter
Although the advertised AMG closing
date for entries has expired (15 August), we are still accepting
entries for Rowing.
The backlog of paper entries is currently
being processed and is expected to be cleared by the end of August.
We will then create and publish a draft draw on 7 September. We
will make the final draw on 07 October, therefore, we will accept
entries up until that date. Please contact us if you have any
questions or concerns.
How do I enter online?
Entries to rowing regattas are more complex than entries in
most other sports and so there are some special things you need
to get through the online registration process for the 9th Australian
Masters Games. These differences are to allow crew entries in
a generalised sport entry management system. Entering online
is much easier than entering on paper!
Step 1 |
Appoint a Team Manager
who will enter your crew(s) for you. Note that even a single
scull is a crew. The Team Manager ensures that crews are entered
correctly, each one as a Team. Crew members are then registered
against the seats in the crew and charged the seat fees. A crew
is not fully entered until all the seat fees are paid in a crew. |
Step 2 |
Decide if your Team Manager
is going to put in and pay for all your crew entries, or just
register the crews. If your Team Manager just registers your
crews, each crew member will need to individually register and
pay the AMG fees. |
Step 3 |
Your Team Manager follows the Team
Manager Process instructions below to enter all crews. Note
that the individual rowers do not have to be registered before
this is done. Individuals cannot finalise their registration
for payment until the crews have been registered by the Team
Manager. |
Step 4 |
Once the crews have been registered,
with rowers named in each position, follow the Individual
Confirmation of Entries and Payment instructions below. This
can be done by the Team Manager or by each individual rower.
If individual rowers are to do it, the Team Manager will need
to give them the Team Codes the system has allocated for each
crew. |
Team
Manager Process
Stroke 1 |
Join Online Registration
Site (become a member). |
Stroke 2 |
Enter your crews as
AMG Teams as described below in Entering Crews. Enter
all your crews separately, each one as a separate Team.
Your crew members do not need have entered any information
in the Online System at this stage. Note that single sculls,
like all crews, need to be recorded as a Team. |
Stroke 3 |
If you are a crew member,
follow the instructions below for Individual Confirmation
of Entries and Payment. |
Stroke 4 |
If you are handling
the individual entries for your crew members, follow the instructions
below for Individual Confirmation of Entries and Payment
for each competitor. You can pay in one process for all competitors
entered under your Online Registration Site membership. |
Entering a
Crew
You cannot start to enter a crew until you have 'Joined' the
Online Registration Site. There is no charge to join. Follow the
general Sporting Pulse instructions to join the site.
Stroke 1 |
Click on "Add Team" under
the heading "Teams" on the left hand side of the page. |
Stroke 2 |
Complete the online form. The fields
are as follows:
Sport: |
Select "Rowing" from the
drop-down menu. |
Team Name: |
This can be any text, but to assist
you correctly entering crews, we recommend you name crews as
+ + , "MRC
ME8+ 1". |
Team Event Category: |
Enter the race identification here
as shown on the draft regatta program, eg "WE1X". |
Team Colours: |
Leave blank. |
Team Alternate Colours: |
Enter your club's name here. |
Team Organiser identification: |
Enter your name here at the "Name
of Team Organiser", and your phone number and email
address at the relevant fields. The other information is not
required for rowing entries. |
|
Stroke 3 |
For each member of this crew (including any cox and coach)
do the following:
- Click on the "Add Member" button that is
in the box titled "Players in your Team". Each
time you click on "Add Member" it adds a line
in this box for your crew members.
- In each row, enter a crew member's name (please get the spelling
correct and consistent or you will have to come back to fix it
before the individuals can enter and pay); the crew member's
age, and in the "Gender" field, enter the crew
member's position in the boat, eg "Bow", 2, 3, Stroke,
Cox, Coach etc. Note that the name entered will be matched against
an individual entry, the age is for printing in the program,
and the position is for both the program and checking complete
registration and payment.
|
Stroke 4 |
Once you are satisfied that the
crew details are correct, click on the "Submit"
button at the bottom of the page. You can edit crews you have
entered by clicking on "Teams I'm Organising"
in the "Members" block at the left hand side
of the page. You can then select from the teams you have entered |
Stroke 5 |
After you submit your crew, the
system will give you a "Team Code". This team
code is essential for successful registration of your individual
crew members. You need to record it for the individual entries
that you or the crew members will make. You can always find the
Team Codes by clicking on "Teams I'm Organising"
on the left hand side. |
Stroke 6 |
If you have more crews to enter,
go back to Stroke 1 above. If you are going to enter (and
pay for) individual crew members, maybe just for yourself, go
to the instructions for Individual Confirmation of Entries
and Payment below. |
Individual
Confirmation of Entries and Payment
All crew members must be registered individually. You can register
for the Games at any time, but you cannot register your seat in
a crew until that crew has been entered by your crew manager.
Some of the information you are asked to provide is repetitive,
but is constrained by the system needing to deal with many sports.
You should start from the Games Online Entry page.
Stroke 1 |
Join Online Registration Site (become
a member), if you have not already. There is no charge for doing
this. This is 'Step 1' on the Online Registration" home
page. |
Stroke 2 |
Click on "Games Entry Fee"
at 'Step 3' on the "Online Registration" home page
and make your basic registration for the Australian Masters Games.
The registration fee is $88, but you don't need to pay until
you have finished entering all the events you want to. |
Stroke 3 |
Find the list of sporting events
(down the page, or click on "List of AMG Events" on
the left hand side; and then click on "ROWING". This
will display the first Rowing entry page that is mostly information
for you. |
Stroke 4 |
Click on the button "Join This
Event" to take you to a page where you select your name.
This is were crew managers can register more than one entrant
in crews, and pay for them. |
Stroke 5 |
Also on this page, you start the
process of registering in a crew (paying your seat fee) by entering
the "Team Code" that the system supplied to the Crew
Manager when the crew entry was recorded. The Team Code will
look like "ROWnnn" where "nnn" are digits.
If you don't have the correct team code, you cannot go any further.
Press "Next" when you have entered the Team Code and
the Rowing Team Members page should be displayed. |
Stroke 6 |
Select your name from the drop-down menu next to "Select
player from list". This is a list of the names entered by
the Team Manager. If your name is not there, get your Team Manager
to fix it. The Team Manager's name is on the page. You can join
the crew as "Unlisted", but this might cause confusion
with your Team Manager and an overpayment of seat fees.
Click on the "Next" button at the bottom of the
page to display the "Class" page.
|
Stroke 7 |
On the "Class" page you select the age category
and sex of the crew that was listed on the previous page. This
information will not be used for the regatta entry system, as
it has been supplied with the Team registration and your individual
Games entry information.
Click on "Select" once, and then on "Next"
to take you to the "Edit Categories" page.
|
Stroke 8 |
On the "Edit Categories"
page click on the check box next to the event (boat type) you
are entering. This tells the system you are going to pay a seat
fee to race in this event. Click on the "Next" button
when you are ready to take you to the "Event Questions"
page. |
Stroke 9 |
On the "Event Questions"
page the system insists on the club and seat position being entered,
although the regatta system will take the information from the
crew entry in preference. Click on the "Next" button
to take you to the "Confirm" page. |
Stroke 10 |
On the "Confirm" page, the details you have entered
are listed. The most important item is your connection to the
crew through the "Team Code". Click on the "Back"
button to correct information, or click on the "Continue"
button to put this seat in your "Shopping Cart" at
a cost of $10. Coxswains do not need to pay the $10 seat fee
If you have more seat fees to register, go back to Stroke
3 above and repeat.
|
Stroke 11 |
Pay your Shopping Cart or print
off your 'invoice' and post in with payment. |
Stroke 12 |
Print off your confirmation letter
(which you can do at any time - especially if you have added
to it) and bring it to the Masters Games |
Late Entries
The closing date for AMG entries is 15 August 2003. The rowing
committee is negotiating with the AMG organisers about extensions.
However you will be able to change crews lists and add crews after
this date. The draw proper will be conducted in early October.
Keep in touch with us over this issue - our aim is to maximise
the competition for more fun.
Changing Entries
You can change your entry online after the closing date if
the crew member has yet to pay. If the crew member has paid and
requires a refund, forward the details to quoting the Team Code and crew member
name and any other details. If you have any problems with this,
please contact us at .
Refunds of seat fees will be given where we cannot provide
the race you have entered, eg. where two races you have entered
are combined.
