MASTERS SPORT POLICY
Aim : New South Wales Roller Sports Inc. will promote and encourage Masters Skaters to participate, compete and become involved in the sport of Roller Skating. It will be our aim to cater for these people by providing grades, requirements and rules to best encourage them to become involved in the sport.
Grades :
ARTISTIC
1. Grades will not be as per age but per ability. Skaters may choose which grade suits their ability. This is as per the National grading.
2. There will be a separate grade for Novice skaters which will be for skaters who have not competed in that discipline at State Championship level in the past five (5) years.
3. There will also be an open grade for disabled skaters.
SPEED
1. Masters A - 30 to 40 years
2. Masters B - 41 to 50 years
3. Masters C - 51 years and over
4. Masters D - Open grade for recreational skaters
5. Masters E - Disbaled ID 20+
6. Masters F - Disbaled Physical 20 +
Rules of Entry :
ARTISTIC
1. Minimum age for entry will be 30 years as at 1/1/03.
2. No age groupings - entry in a division will be per ability, except for Novice.
3. Novice grade will be for skaters who have not competed in that discipline, with that partner (if applicable) at a State Championship in the past five (5) years.
4. No separate events for male and female, all events will be mixed.
5. Skaters can nominate in Dance Teams and Solo Dance
6. Dance teams will consist of a male and female partnership.
7. Except for the above rules of entry, the events will be conducted as per the Commissioned Artistic Officials Committee (CAOC) rule book.
SPEED
1. There will be separate events for male and female providing sufficient entries are received.
2. Relays may consist of a team of three (3) or four (4) plus one (1) reserve and may be mixed - male and female.
3. The Track and Road events (as listed) will be held for all Masters grades.
4. Competitors numbers will be provided by the organiser.
5. All Roller Sports Australia rules pertaining to the running of the road racing and track racing will be strictly adhered to by all officials and competitors.
6. Helmet and gloves must be worn on Road Racing
7. Helmet must be worn on the Track Racing.
8. Other protective clothing (knee guards, elbow guards, wrist guards) may be worn.
9. It is advisable for all clothing to be close fitting.
