League Men Round 3 make-up game – Uni Rebels v Tracy Village Jets
John King hit a game high 40 points and Tim Morris (27.4ppg) had 35 as the pair combined for 75% of the Uni Rebels points in their 101-91 win over the Tracy Village Jets. The duo was almost unstoppable on offense, scoring pretty much at will. The Rebels jumped out to a 32-21 first quarter lead before the Jets reined them in in the second quarter. Darrin Weetra found the range early during the quarter to knock down 15 of his team high 33 while leading the Bombers on a 29-25 run to peg the score back to 57-50 in favour of the Rebels. After the break the league’s scoring leader King (28.2ppg) went on a scoring spree hitting 17 of his total as the Rebels opened their lead up to 12 points (84-72) heading into the last quarter. Darrin & Alex Weetra and Jayden Adams tried to haul the Bombers back into contention in the last quarter but their hard work was in vain as the Rebels hung tough to claim their eighth win of the competition and the fourth spot in the upcoming playoffs due to begin on the 6th of June. Three other Bombers hit double figures besides Weetra: Adams had 20, Alex Weetra hit 15 and Immanuel Gracis had 10.
