Arafura Games Volunteers - register this Saturday 5th March

Working With Children Checks (Orchre Cards)

Many of the Arafura Games volunteers who have registered online, still need to complete their Working With Children Check paperwork. This is a mandatory step for being a member of the Games or Sport Workforce.

To do this, you can come into the Arafura Games office and complete the form and have your photo taken. You'll need to bring 100 points of identification, which most people carry in their wallets, being a drivers licence, bank card and medicare card. This can all be verified and processed direct from Arafura Games, saving you time and money!

If you can't get into the Arafura Games office easily, you can complete this form and have your identification checked by a Justice of the Peace or Commissioner for Oaths. You will still need the Arafura Games Workforce Manager to sign the form, so either fax or post the form to our office and we'll return it to you.

Interstate volunteers will need either a police check or the equivalent Working With Children check in their state, such as a Blue Card.

 So, I've regisitered...what next?

Once you have completed your registration to be a volunteer at the Arafura Games, and your Working With Children paperwork if required, the next step is attending a General Training Session. Choose from one of the following dates and venues:

Saturday 2 April  -  9.00am-12.00pm  -  Palmerston (CMax Cinema); or

Sunday 3 April    -  9.00am-12.00pm  -  Casuarina (Birch, Carroll and Coyle Cinema); or

Sunday 10 April  -  9.00am-12.00pm  -  Darwin City (Birch, Carroll and Coyle Cinema,).

The Arafura Games team will be in touch with you again before these training sessions. For many of the Games Workforce, there will also be a Specific Training session following these General Training sessions. For the Sports Workforce, your Sports Coordinator will be in touch with you about your availability.

After training, the last step will be collecting your accreditation pass, uniform and participant bag. More information about this to follow...

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
