Round 15- Men

League Men Round 15 -Saturday -  Ansett v Eagles

The battle for the top of the ladder was played out Saturday afternoon between Ansett and the Eagles. Ansett won the game 93-83 to move within a ½ game of the league leading Birds. A big 24-13 run in the third quarter by the Blues was the undoing of the Eagles as they failed to reply to the challenge. Season highs by Freddy Webb (24 @ 13.7ppg) and Brad Davis (21 @ 17.2ppg) help the Blues to win their tenth game pulling them even with the Birds in the win column. Ansett has a game in hand. Jerron Jamerson (34.8ppg) led the Blues again with 25 and Matty Hunt added 17. The Eagles got a game high 30 from Alex Fertig (38.3ppg), 14 from Dirk Steenbergen and 11 from Shane Harrison.

Razzle v Tracy Village Jets

Game to be rescheduled.

Chad Bewley (26.8ppg), Jerrell Sanders (26ppg) and Jake Kirby (15.8ppg) combined for 70 points as the Uni Rebels continued to climb the ladder after they ran up win number 3 in succession. They are now in fourth place after knocking off Palmerston Power 84-79. The Rebels held what looked like a comfortable 60-45 lead heading into the last quarter, but the Power surged forward with a 34-24 run that fell just five points shy of catching the Rebels. Bewley led the Rebels with 28, Sanders 22 and Kirby 20. Shaquille Hohipa-Wilson (17.4ppg) led all scorers with 30 for the Power getting support from Jesse Bell 922.2ppg) who hit 21.
