Trevor Cook

B Ap Sc (Human Movement), Dip H & PE, Dip T 

 National and State Coach and Selector, Head coach Women's National Basketball (NBL) team, Director of Coaching Queensland, Coach Educator, Head Coach of numerous Sate All-Star Teams and Satellite Coach for the Australian Institute of Sport, are just some of the achievements of outstanding Australian coach, Trevor Cook. Many of Australia's international star players have been coached by Cook during their development years, including Australian Opal's legend, Michelle Timms who starred in Olympic competition for Australia, and in the US WNBL while playing for Phoenix Mercury.

 Cook became part of Australian Basketball history as Head Coach to the Australian Women's Youth team in 1989. Competing at the World Youth Championships in Spain, their Bronze Medal winning performance marked a first-ever international place for any Australian team. Throughout his career, Coach Cook has always considered working with young boys and girls, developing the sound fundamentals needed to progress to a higher level, to be a priority to lift the standard of Australian Basketball. This approach as Director of Coaching in various district associations, has inevitably led to vast improvement in overall standards and results and exceptional careers for many players under his tutelage. .

 For many years, Coach Cook worked as a Physical Education teacher in three Sates of Australia improving the basketball programs, and spending after school hours developing young basketball talent. Cook makes annual tours to the USA with high school teams and is involved with the recruitment of Australians to US colleges.

 Coach Cook has received a plethora of richly deserved credits throughout his career, including 'New South Wales Coach of the Year'. In 2000 he was honoured by the Australian Government when named as a recipient of an Australian Medal in recognition of his services to Australian basketball.
