Barrengarry Conference Mission
To provide a low-cost, representative basketball experience to the maximum number of participants in a developmental environment.
Aims of Conference
Players
- The Conference aims to provide opportunities for players, coaches, referees and administrators to be in involved in a level of participation that presents an experience that is rewarding and/or provides an incentive to be active at higher levels of the competition.
- The competition is based on the Rules of Basketball NSW (BNSW) and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) but does vary to suit the philosophies of the Barrengarry Conference.
- The basic philosophy is for the participant to have fun and enjoyment, make new friends and develop skills. Competition ladders are not a major concern.
- The competition aims to introduce participants to a level of representative competition that is not available to them at a higher strata of progression or offer incentive to progress higher.
- Many participants will be happy to gain experience at this level in a development framework to progress to future representative competition.
