Basketball will come alive again in the shores of Auki Malaita Province. The MABA have seen this trip as a new beginning of basketball after it was died out long time ago. They said that people in the surrounding community still have the interest to play basketball but there is no committee to run this game over there.

They have now seen the impact of this program and with the positive feedback from the public and those participants who attend the courses, they definitely will elect a committee to use the participants  to run basketball programs in the schools and should start their own competition by next year. At the moment they are planning to have an under 14 and open competition sometime next month before Christmas.

The Chief of AMBU village have thanked the Solomon Islands Basketball Federation for funding the two new backboards for their old basketball court which is also the only court within the Auki town itself.
