Honiara Clubs prepare for HBA finals

Major clubs around Honiara in the Solomon Islands are gearing up for the first set of semi-finals with the high school competition earmarked to commence their semis over the Independence weekend on July 7, 2013.

President of the Honiara Basketball Association (HBA) and former Solomon Islands NBDO, Golden Kiloko said the coming weeks’ promises to be full of basketball action as teams fire-up to become the best in Honiara.

“The school’s students are on Holiday’s and so many of their teams are eager to finish off their finals during the break to become high school champions for 2013 HBA competition”, Kiloko explained.

The high school semis will be followed by the Men’s A and Men’s B finals including the Women’s open competition. The Solomon Islands Basketball Federation (SIBF) will be looking to use the opportunity to scout for the training squad members for all categories, and will assist Provincial sports organizers in their selection for basketball team representatives in the upcoming Solomon Games to be held in September later this year.
