Round 2 of the Honiara Basketball Association (HBA) Super 4 Knockout Competition was completed on Sunday afternoon 8th October, with 3 fantastic games played at the Multi Purpose Hall. The format of the competition has proved to be highly successful with 3 very tough, exciting and closely contested matches. Games start from 1pm every Sunday afternoon, with great prizes to be won for any spectator that wishes to participate in the $50 half court shoot out, the children's foul shot competition and the 3 point competition which are held at half time of every match. Prizes include cash, taiyo, noodles and twisties, with every child taking a prize just for participating. "This is so much fun, and really exciting. I can't imagine a better way to spend my Sunday afternoon than to watch some great basketball and win some prizes at half time" said one excited spectator.

Sunday's matches also created some of the highest standard, and closest matches of basketball seen in Honiara for some time, with the final match of the afternoon between QQQ Marist and Telekom men going into Over Time as the match score was tied at 49 each at the end of regulation time. This required the two teams to play an extra 5 minute period to determine the winner, which was eventually Telekom 59 defeating QQQ Marist 52. The other mens match saw a classic tussle between CYO and L.R. Sosa. With the lead changing 7 times throughout the match, everyone was on the edge of their seats until the final whistle which saw CYO 47 defeating L.R. Sosa 42.

The Women's match of the afternoon saw the might of the Roberta Roses taking on L.R. Sosa. Which saw L.R. Sosa after trailing at halftime, make a late comeback in the final quarter to go down by only 8 points, Roberta Roses 40 to L.R. Sosa 32.
