Zone Development Manager Annie La Fleur in Samoa

Since Ms. La Fleur has arrived in Samoa a special welcome dinner with the SNBA board members was organized at the Sunrise Chinese Restaurant.

Annie is here to help develop the game of basketball in every area so she has met with the SSFA to get a better understanding of what fascilities are available for basketball alone and she has had the opportunity to observe the National men and women teams in a scrimmage session.

During the week Ms. La Fleur will be travelling to some of the primary and high schools to run coaching clinics and to help develop the game at Grass roots level along with running a beginner coaching course for the local community. Later in the week she will be taking the National players both men and women through a training session at Gym 2.

'Being a pacific islander myself, this is a wonderful opportunity for me to share my experiences and knowledge with the Samoan Community' Ms. La Fleur said. She has played at the highest level possible, winning a Silver Medal at the 2000 Olympics with the Australian womens' team (Opals) and also playing in the WNBA in the USA.

We are privaleged to have Ms. La Fleur in our country to share all her knowledge and we thank her and FIBA Oceania for all the help and support they offer and we look forward to working with them in the future.
