Hoops for Health

Hoops For Health is the official community engagement strategy for the Basketball Federation of Papua New Guinea. It has become a reality through FIBA support and funding from the Australian Government’s Pacific Sports Partnership program.
The Hoops For Health inititiave is strategically designed to achieve three major goals:
- Educate about Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD's) and leading active lifestyles
- Promote the importance of school attendance and the value of education
- Reduce anti-social behaviour and encourage social cohesion
These three goals are achieved through the delivery of five unique programs:
- School Clinics
- Twilight Basketball
- BFPNG Junior Hoops
- Mixed Corporate / 3x3 Basketball Competition
- Mum's A Hero
