PNOC Outreach Programs

March 15 is Palau National Youth holiday. The PNOC staff were all busy with sports programs in Aimeliik State, Ngarchelong State, Airai State, Melkeok State and Ngaremlengui State. Ngarchelong state, Airai State and Aimeliik State community competition was held on Saturday, March 14 and 15 at Oketol Dock in Ngarchelong, Nekken Field in Aimeliik and Yelch Field in Airai. About 500 youths particpated in the various sports like Kayak races, Swimming races, Basketball competitions, volleyball competitions and softball competitions. The Ministry of Education in celebration with the Youth Day festivities held their schools Awareness programs and conducted sports programs in various days from March 17 to March 20. Ngaremlengui elementary school invited team from Ngardmau, Aimeliik and Ibobang elementary schools to their state to compete in Basketball, softball, soccer and volleyball on March 16. Schools like Koror, Meyuns and GB Harris elementary schools conducted fun games within their schools to raise awareness in what they offer in their schools. NBDO Topps Sungino was a guest speaker in various schools throughout the week to help raise awareness of the importance of sports in character building and the various opportunities offered by PNOC.
