Life Education aims to empower young people to make safe and informed decisions about drugs and their health. Facilitated by specialist educators who use innovative and interactive teaching strategies, Life Education develops young people’s life skills, knowledge and confidence.
The new community partnership will see a logo promoting the Ocsober campaign placed on the front and back of Box Hill Hawks Guernsey next season.
Ocsober, one of many Life Education initiatives, is an alcohol free month run during October where people get sponsored to cut out alcohol, with all money raised going directly to Life Education Australia - to educate Aussie kids about the effects of drugs and alcohol.
Earlier this year, the Box Hill Hawks participated in the inaugural Ocsober campaign helping raise over $11,000.
Box Hill Hawks president John Ure was delighted with the new agreement confirming it was encouraging to have secured a Major Partner in such uncertain times.
“The new Community Partnership is a good indication that there still is a strong interest in the opportunities presented by VFL clubs within the local business community,” Ure said.
“Box Hill Hawks is extremely grateful for the commitment made by Life Education and we not only look forward to continuing our close-working relationship, but also to play our part in achieving Life Education’s important goals and objectives,”
“There’s no doubt the well documented global economic crisis has caused companies to review their cash spend so we are delighted to have locked in our major partner prior to the Christmas period”.
Life Education Victoria Chairman Paul Wheelton said that Box Hill Hawks was a proven community minded citizen with family values and an ideal vehicle to promote their organisation to the greater community.
“I have no doubt that this Community Partnership between Life Education and Box Hill Hawks will be a mutually rewarding and beneficial,” Mr Wheelton said.
In addition to its logo on the newly designed playing guernsey, Life Education will also utilise players and officials for promotional activities, participate in a Community Football Clinic for local Primary Schools in April 2009 and feature prominently on signage around Box Hill City Oval.
Life Education reaches over 700,000 primary school children each year through family and school-based programs.
