Former premiership player John Lamont returns to Chirnside Park on the 21st anniversary of Werribee winning its last flag.
Lamont, a successful TAC Cup and North Melbourne development coach takes over a club that has lost many key players through the AFL draft, retirement, work and enticements from other VFL clubs.
Trent Shinners, a 100-game player with Frankston, Bendigo and Essendon, will be a welcome addition, so, too Morrish Medallist George Cameron while the retention of Ben Speight, delisted by North Melbourne, is a glowing endorsement of the Werribee Football Club.
Werribee has been to the past two Preliminary Finals, and that is where they will be aiming again in 2014.
