Werribee Tigers have won their way through to the next round of the FOXTEL Cup with a convincing win over Queanbeyan by 85 points.
After setting up a 26-point quarter time lead after kicking the first four goals of the game, inaccuracy hampered the Tigers as they proceeded to kick 3.11 in the second and third quarters.
But the ‘home’ side found the target in the final term as their superior fitness showed out, and they raced home with 7.3 in the final term to run out 85-point winners.
Jordan Gysberts was the key in the game for Werribee, dominating in the middle as he gave his side first use with 22 disposals. Ben Brown (3 goals) was the best big man on the ground, collecting 14 disposals and pulled down 8 marks in an impressive performance up forward and around the ground in the ruck. Adam Maric (3), Mason Wood (0.5) and Scott Clouston (2) all provided their side with strong targets up forward despite the sides inaccuracy, as Werribee doubled their opponents inside 50 count.
Werribee has won through to the FOXTEL Cup semi-final on July 9, and will face East Fremantle who defeated Norwood in their Round 1 clash.
